Before I got my O\R H-pipe everyone said the check engine light will come on if i dont get mil elimators, well I hoped i would get lucky and for a good 3-4 months no check engine light just great sound, as soon as i hit 70,000 miles the check engine light comes on, i know it has to be my exhaust, ever happen to you guys, thanks for any imput

I've had my O/R X pipe for a good six months or more with 51K on the car. Luckily no light. I keep expecting the thing to come on but so far so good. I'm actually taking out the X and putting back the old stock unit minus four of the six cats. The sound of the X thru the flows is very annoying at times, especially with the top down!

The light coming on is a forgone conclusion, nothing screwed you over you knew what you were getting into. You've been lucky nothing more.

it may not be your pipe some cars have automatic check engine lights that come on when it time to replace the sensors since you have 70,000 miles it may just be time to replace them

You got lucky, my friend and I just put on my o/r h-pipe, and my check engine light went on the same day.

o/r h-pipes

My 98gt has the whole exaust package and the check engine light wnet on from the start. It seems (After I did some checking) that the ecm's on the 98's are particulary hard to please. If a sensor goes out the computer reverts to a default mode. ( I don't know if this is the correct term) and uses a value that was good at one time. Allowing one to get somewhere for help.
