Blocking off air passage in intake HELP!!

I assume you block off the hole between upper & lower, but how?,cut a piece of gasket to fit ? I,m doing this tomorrow so I would apprieciate any suggestions.

I drove freeze plugs in the EGR passage of my old GT-40 intake. Any parts store should have a 3/4" plug. I put on in the lower and one in the upper.
