Steering and Tires....
OK, so the wife is complaining about the "pull" on the steering wheel from my 245's up front. I've asked if this was normal before and I think I was told "yes".
Is there anyway to reduce the steering wheel pull without going to a smaller tire? If it means redoing some joints in the steering system it's worth it to kill this pulling thing, otherwise I've got a real up hill battle when it comes to getting wider tires and better rims on the car http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif ------------------ Driving: 1998 F-150 Far way in Edmonton==> :( 1995 Mustang GT |
wider tires tend to catch ruts in the road alot easier and cause pulling, so other than getting smaller tires there's really nothing you can do.

But I swear then when I test drove a 99 GT with the same tires it did not pull nearly as much as mine.
I guess I could drop to a 235 tire and just go wider on the back... |
Caster/camber plates might help. Get it aligned and try to get as much caster as possible. That should help it from getting sidetracked in the ruts, but it'll make it a bit harder to turn the wheel.
