grinding noise
 
hey everyone, when i am driving i can here a grinding noise from my car. i hear it at low rpms and low speed. but when i give it gas my muffler gets loud and i cant here it i dont know if it is still going on then or not. Also the noise goes away when i push in the clutch. i DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS. Is it bad. I hope not. Please Help. If you need any more info to help just ask.

how old is the clutch and release bearing? might be galling the release bearing to the bearing retainer? might be pilot bearing might be this or that.. hard to say ole boy..

i think my clutch cable is bad would that have anything ti do with the noise

SOunds like the throwout bearing, very common to do that with the miles you have. If your clutch cable is going out then you might be wearing down the clutch itself while driving it and shifting, if yoor going to change out the bearing it would be a good time to change the whole thing alon with the cable too. But if not, you could get a new cbale for around $89 and a new TB for $20.
