What is widest slick I can run on 8" wheel?

I have Hoosier 15 x 9" wide slicks now but would like to go with 10" or so. Anybody know a brand/size/part number that will work well and safely on an 8" wide wheel?

If you go too big, the tires roll on the sides and you do not get as much contact patch. Also you increase rolling resistance with a wider tire. If it were me I would go with a 9 inch slick and get it in a taller tire like a 28" tall tire.

26.0/8.5-15 or 28.0/9.0-15

I use these tires and launch at 6500 rpm's and no tire spin.

Acceptable practice for rim width is tread width plus or minus 1 inch.

Thanks guys! I tried to buy 9" Draglites but according to Summit they have discontinued the 9". I feel the 10" are too wide and wont look good sticking outside the wheel well.
