BBK or MAC?

The off-road H-pipe on my car is in need of replacing. Who makes a better offroad h-pipe, BBK or MAC?

hands down BBK

Second vote for BBK, I have a MAC (came with the car) it's junk. ~Brian

I was thinking BBK too, but someone told me that the BBK off-road h-pipe for shortie headers will NOT fit a stang with an AOD. Is this true?

TwiLighTBluEGT 12-03-2002 11:02 AM

anybody?

specify that you have an aod when you order it, im sure they have one that will fit.

another vote for bbk here

I've ran both and liked them both equally. The MAC was their X and the BBK was a H.

I've ran both MAC (with cats) and BBK (without for shorties and long tubes)
My vote is BBK!!!

Does the BBK line up correctly with no modifications on an 87-93 stang? I use to have the MAC 2 cat h-pipe, and the fit was horrible. I could not get it on myself so I took it to an exhaust shop and the guy there had trouble with it. Basically, everything was off when trying to line it up.

They both fit a little different from one another... but I think BBK has a better fit and is easier to work with.

No, thats not true. the h-pipe for shorties is not transmission specific.

Another vote for BBK...for the price the ease of fit and the sound. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I vote BBK as well. My H-pipe is not BBK, it's Pace-setter which bolted up perfectly to my BBK shorties and Flowmaster exhaust.
I say it's pretty much a toss up between BBK and Pace-setter.

WOW, everyone has voted for BBK so far. No wonder my P.O.S. MAC 2-cat H-pipe didn't line up to my car all! MAC pipes are sh*t and aren't even stainless steel. The only one I would considering buying after reading the prevous posts is the pro-chamber

Suprised no one has mentioned Basani.. I run Mac long tube headers into Basani X pipe into Mag flow mufflers...sounds great and no leaks...had to throw away the flow master...too damn loud..could hear me coming 5 miles away.
