Done! Kenny Brown Subframes
I have to say this has to be the best 85.00 modification I have done to any car. I could tell a difference when I first sat in the car. The car has such a solid feel now and alot of squeeks and rattles are gone. I cant wait to get my 3.73's in now!:D

I put KB subframes on my car and I barely noticed a difference

Even if you can't feel it, its definately a good thing to have in there, trust me |
how much should i expect to have to pay to get subframes installed?
|
I paid about $15 at a hole in the wall muffler shop. When I bought them from kenny brown at his shop, i asked them what install would be, and I think they quoted me something like $150:rolleyes:

SUBFRAMES
Convertibles are already reinforced underneath the chassis (or within the chassis??) straight from Ford, due to the fact that of, well...they don't have a hard top tieing the hole car together. I don't believe the convertibles come with subframe connectors from the factory, but they do have additional strengthening in their chassis to make up for not having a solid roof. That's why convertibles weigh more than hard tops. That and the extra weight of the retracting top, electric motor, etc. So you might not be able to feel as big of a difference installing subframe connectors on a convertible as opposed to a hard top.
Getting subframe connectors welded in shouldn't be more than $50-$100 at most. |
I had a local muffler shop do mine and it only cost me 40 bux, which was well worth it because there is quite a bit of welding to do under there. I had a high performance shop quote me 175.00. I am completely satisfied with the install and the product. like I said I can really feel the difference.
