pkrwud:need help

I need some fixing ideas and I here your the best to ask. Here is the problem : mustang running great as I pulled into the office it just shut off and never would restart. I heard a very loud noise so I thought it was the timing chain. So I checked my valves and pressure tested one of the spark plug holes and everything checked out. THANK GOD! So now I need more ideas? I cranks over very well just will not start? Where should I start? You have helped me in the past and I hope you can help me now. Thanks.

You need to check your fuel pressure and check for spark. Is it possible that you ran over something that might have tripped your inertia switch?

Try to start it, but don't touch the gas pedal. Then pull a spark plug and see if it's wet. If it is, dry it off, and stick the wire back on it, and set it so that it is in contact with the block. Crank it over and look for a spark.

In short, it takes 4 things for an engine to run:
air
gas
ignition
compression

You are lacking one of those things. We just need to figure out which one.

Take care,
~Chris

I will try this. Unfortunatelly, its raining here in San Antonio and I don't have a garage to work in. I will try this and post a reply as soon as the rain stops. Thanks for the quick response!

Why dont you remove the driver side valve cover and see if the rockers move up and down when you crank it that way you know if its a timing chain problem or not.

Yea jpumkin, i was on my last lower control arm when it started raining on me, damn tx weather can change in an instant, one day its 31, next its warm with cold rain:rolleyes: heh, hope you get everything figured out, might not hurt to run a koeo test with a scanner, also might need to check timing, wish i wasnt on the other side of town from you.....

I did take off the driver side valve cover and everything seems to be working. I am pretty sure the chain did not break. I have a feeling it could be fuel related or maybe the fuel relay under the seat? Is there a way to check the relay under the seat with a test light to see if it is working correctly?

I checked my relay by just buying one from autozone and trying a new one, it wasnt it, and they almost didnt refund me cuz it was an electrical part, you can get a volts tester, and check for voltage at the harness in the back just above the tank, below the rear bumper, with the key on position you should unplug the harness and check back there, i did all this to eventually find out it was my pump.
