N.o.s.

I have never used the spray on a car before and was wondering, When you buy a stage 1 kit like from N.O.S. or NX or any of the other big names do you need to retard the timing? On my drag bike I have a computer that progressively ramps up the amoount of spray while at the same time backs down the ignition timing to match kind of like 2 overlapping bell curves. anything over 40 horse or so requirres taking out some serious timing on my bike (150 horse shot). But I also realize it is a full bore race motor with 15:1 compression, I guess basic question is do they need to be retarded from what ever degrees of advance works the best normally aspirated(mostly bolt on stuff, stock motor)?Just the basic 75-100 horse kit, I mean.

yep you should retard the timing. run an autolite 23 plug gapped at .035".

My understanding is the basic rule of thumb is to take out 2* timing for each 50hp of nitrous being used, but it always takes tuning to find out what works best for your motor. I ran 15* timing on a 125 shot.
