cobra, or trickflow street intk?
Both priced fairly cheaper than most intakes, which one would be good for my application, stock heads for now, but will probaly have some gt-40 alum, or edelbrock in the future, possibly after tax return.....open to opinions, will the tfs kill more torque ect....

Up too 400hp stay with the cobra, It will have more bottom end. I have seen N.A. cars with cobras trapp as fast as 119. And be very friendly on the street. I think the TFS will have a little less bottom end and that is a pain driving around town. My buddy has a holly, which is close to the TFS, I can bairly take off with it, I keep killing it. He does just fine, he is use to it I guess.

i have the street intake...i have 3.55 gears and dont have a prob with low end at all..even with my 2.73's i had it was a bit sluggish taken off but you could defenitly feel it up high

I would say go with the cobra too. Just get the lower intake runners straightened and maybe ported a little.
The Holley intake is nothing like the street heat TFS, it really isn't even close to the track heat. The Holley systemax II intake flows rediculous cfm's, like 310-320. That is TFS R intake territory, just with longer runners. I would run a Holley intake if I had a high reving 302 or a nice big 347. Good luck man. -Billy |
I'd say go with the street heat. You'd have to get the cobra ported for it to flow as good and that would end up costing more. For the iron heads the cobra is fine, but once you get some good heads you'll be sorry you bought the cobra. Trust me on this one, I did it. I still have my cobra on a TFS heades 331, its killing me and I don't have money to upgrade it. If I would have just spent the money on a better intake when I had the chance I would be much happier.

Ok guys, im decided TFS, reason i ask is because when i order my tb, i want to know if i need a egr spacer along with it, which i wouldnt need with the cobra, but im going with the tfs since my car sees alot of track duty, i usually come home every wed from work, hop in my car and go to the track, which is about 5 mi's away, i just didnt know if the cobra outflowed the tfs by that much, i definately dont think i will be pushing 400, even with edelbrock heads, thanx for the opinions, im gonna order it soon for a little x-mas present to me, from me...:D

I ran for YEARS with the Cobra intake, and its a great intake.
Only swapped to the TFS when I did a LOT of mods this year for this: http://www.dariusrudis.com/engine.jpg |
