My friends 98 cobra got in an accident and after rebuild and what-not there was the horse in the middle of his steering wheel insted of it saying cobra. I dont know if the jerks just switched wheels cause they wanted the cobra one but what can we do, we've been trying to think of something any help is good, thanks

There has been a ton of shady crap going on in that reguard lately. If its a shady body shop you delt with, there could be nothing but a couple of shop rags in there where your air bag should be !!! They steal them and sell them. The drivers module in most cars goes for 600 to 900 dollars and the passenger module for around a grand. Go have it checked !
If you decide to mess with it which i don't recommend then disconnect the battery at very least. Look around the groove in the center of the wheel and make sure it doesn't look like its been opened and pasted shut ... there should be no evidence that material has ever seperated.

I didn't read your post close enough. If you mean the bag deployed in the accident, then they probably just ordered the wrong one when they replaced it. I would still make them change it because having the wrong wheel on that car could be detrimental to its resale value ! They screwed up and they should make it right.

Yeh I agree, I am assuming the air bag went off if he got into an accident so it could just be the stearing wheel, but double check or just confirm with them why it's changed. Never hurts to ask. And becareful with the air bag. I was talking to my friends about that last night, who was it on this board like a year back had the air bag explode on them while they were working on there stearing wheel?

So theres no way to switch it, we called and they ordered the wrong part and just about said too bad **** off, so we pretty much have a cobra with a gt steering wheel, hes gonna get called a poser now by all the people that get pissed off by gt's trying to be cobras. I wish they could have made a cobra cover that can go over that wheel cause were sh*t out of luck it seems, thanks

Call bureau of automotive repair in your area ... they are generally very picky about air bags and i'm sure would frown on putting an incorrect one on. It may be functionally the same but it is a cobra with a non cobra module so technically it still isn't the proper application!
I work for an insurance company and i control that final check, and i assure you under those circumstances they wouldn't get paid until they made it right !
