cowl hood??

I have a basically stock 351W (aside froma a GT-40 lower and a cobra upper) which is going into a 93 GT. I did this swap with an 86 Capri and the breather tapped the hood. Just a bit. Can I get away w/the stock hood if the engine is EFI. Dread having to go to a cowl. Not only will it be $ I could spend somewhere else, I heard the fiberglass crap sucks on a street car? I had heard that there were drop mounts for this install. Is that true?

Well, I don't have a 351, but I do have a high sitting intake on my 347. I have a 3" cowl and just have enough room for it to clear. I have never heard of drop mounts but that doesn't mean they don't exist. If you do drop your motor, you'll have to worry about your oil pan hitting things. Also, about the fiberglass... I have a fiberglass hood and I have never had any problems. You get what you pay for. I would stick with Cervinis or Harwood for an aftermarket hood. They have the best fit and best quality out there. Also, when you get it painted, if they put crappy paint on there, the heat will make it bubble up, so watch out for that.
