Ordering Hood. Need consumer info.

Has anyone had any problems when ordering hoods from Cobra Auto Designs, or Cincinnati composites? They must be middlemen because they said it would take 14 days from Ohio to Maryland, so I’m assuming they have to order it, get it in, and then send it to me.

Or does anyone know of another place where I can get a 3.5” Cowl for a 94 GT

Thanks

Do not buy anything from Cincinnati composites. Nothing but crap comes from them. Go to stangnet.com and look at the product review page. It will tell you anything you want to know from a consumer point of view.

I'm sooo glad I posted here. Thanks for the info. I called them, and I didn't get any warm fuzzies. They also said it wouldn't ship OUT for 14days?!?!?

holy !#%@!!!!!!!!

WADS56,

I owe you. I just read the reviews @ Stangnet.com for Cincinnati Composites!!! http://reviews.stangnet.com/Body/

I'm surprised somebody didn't go postal up there yet.

i bought my hood from there, and its junk. its not just little prep work the whole fiberglass form must have been off, cause one side sticks up 1/2 inch (rear drivers side) and the front passenger side sticks up about 3/4. cobra auto designs and cinciatti composites are the same company, if you call them both the same guy answers the phone, LOL.

also i would use hood pins when ever going to an aftermarket hood, i know 4 guys whos hood have popped up, not good.

I will reiterate what Wade has so accurately pointed out...

STAY AWAY FROM CINCINNATI COMPOSITES!!! ;)

I made the mistake of ordering a hood from them and they were pissed when I informed them of the lack of proper fittment and overall quality upon receival of the POS hood. I will spare you the details...

You really do get what you pay for, especially with figerglass hoods. Cervini's or HO Fibertrends are the ONLY companies to order a hood from, in my limited experience.

I have a both a Mach 1 hood (for sale) and a 5.5" lift-off cowl hood from Cervini's and there isn't a single complaint I have about their product. :)

Ultraflo, clean out your mailbox I can't send you any PM's. I want your mach1 hood.

Design Concepts has good hoods. That's who I'm gonna get mine from.

I've got a 4" cowl from Glasstek on my 85 and I love it. Fit great, everything lined up right, in fact it actually fit a little nicer than my stocker!! I would recomend them to anyone. The only downside is it took about a month to get it, I think they make the items as they are ordered. My .02

HO Fibertrends makes very high quality stuff. Dave Lanman is a very nice guy to deal with. The part # for a 3.5 for a SN95 is 94983.

Personally, the best quality I have seen has been from Cervini's and H.O. Fibertrends. Good service, too.

nice looking hood drudis. I need to post some pics of my car up under my name. I ordered a Cobra R hood from Cervini's. I hope it fits well.

ultraflo 12-20-2002 05:21 PM

You won't have any issues with proper fittment with the Cervini hood... very good stuff!

If ya want, send me the picture of your car you want to post for an avatar, I can resize it for you and get you fixed up if you want. ;) There's a few other guys here than can help you out with that as well.

NYC1 12-20-2002 05:27 PM

Cool! I'll do that when I get home tonight.

ultraflo 12-20-2002 05:56 PM

No problem... I shouldn't be going anywhere tonight, so I should have it taken care of for ya before the night's up.

This is it.

I need to bring the pic back to the scanner program because there's no color.

here's the resized version of the b&w pic. just save it to either a floppy or your hard drive and go into the user cp and choose options to access your avatar settings...
