serpentine belt diagram
my serpentine belt popped off today as I was starting my car.... and i kinda need that to have power steering, ac, the alternator.... well, everything...
does anyone have a picture of the serpentine belt ad how it goes across the pullies? Torinalth |
ok, new problem.... the belt is now routed fine, but there is not enough slack to get the tensioner pully anywhere near going back into place.... any suggestions?

JK6-941 by any chance is that the partnumber for a 99+ gt belt?

What have you done to the car to make the belt pop of in the first place? And, if you put the belt back on and you cant get it on the tensioner, then it's not routed right. It took me about 15 mins when I added the underdive pulleys to figure out how to get it back on without a diagram.

I did not do anything to the car, and I has just checked out everything as I just changed the oil.... and it looked fine, belt was tight and was solidly on the wheels....
I had to get a long screw driver to bend the tension pulley far enough for the belt to get partly on, once it was partly on I cranked the car real quick and it pulled the belt on track... since then it has been fine... really kinda odd.... I didnt know the tension pully was spring balanced, that is what got me lost... but it is all good now. Torinalth |
Whatca Drivin?
Torinalth,
Good thing that things worked out. BTW.......Alldata.com has had this problem reported to them and appears on their TSBs for the V-6 and V-8s during various model years. The belt has been reported to slip off the pully when wet. In the future, a couple things that help us help you.. :) the year, Make, Engine Type (Displacement/Size in Liters) of vehicle/engine with problem..... http://www.alldata.com/recalls/index.html It is always helpful to purchase a Haynes or Chilton Manual for your car. I have one for 1994 - 1999 Mustangs and need to now buy one for my new 2003 GT. My father NEVER let me drive my cars until I "read the manual". It is one of the best books you'll every buy.
