3.8L ticking under the Valve Covers?

A friend was asking me about his 97 Mustang 3.8L it has a ticking noise coming from the valve covers. It only has 38K miles on it. I havent listen to it myself but I thought I should ask some Stang guys if they have had this problem before. It is running good just making some noise. He said he took it to the dealer and they said it didnt make any noise with the covers off. He also said that it doesnt do it at idle, you have to get the rpms up and then it does it. I was thinking lifters?? maybe. Thanks Sorry for the long post

Tell him to get Marvel Mystry oil for lifters. When he is changing his oil amd add a quart instead of oil ( It takes 5 quarts of oil to fill it up so put 4 quarts of oil and 1 quart of marvel mystry oil). Run it about a week or two and it should go away. My air filter fell off and I got trash in my lifters so they tapped real bad. I put Mavel mystrey oil in and a week or two later the tapping went bye bye. Hope this helps.
