Intake Choice
 

I've got a choice of two intakes that I'm looking at. I'm going to be putting this on a 302 with 165 AFR Heads, 24# injectors, TFS Stage 1 Cam, Accufab 70 mm TB.
The choices are either a new Holley Systemax, or a friend has a cobra intake for sell that the upper has been extrude honed, and the lower has a "Stage II" port job. The intake went 12.10s on a stock bottom end with the combination above except it had TFS heads.
What do you guys think, oh yeah I can get the Cobra for around $120 cheaper. I'm afraid it might be a bad matchup for my heads.

If you can swing it go with the Holley! Its huge, but then I had a cobra intake that was stock to compare it to. If you think you are going to add cubes, N02 or blower, go with the Holley.

It added alot through the RPM range for me, but I do have a blower.

Just wondering.. why not TFS intake?

If I used the TFS, it would most likely be the R, the reason I didn't look at it was because in a dyno test I've got the Holley made more power than everything but the R.
What I'm thinking is that with the RPM range usable on my stock short block, that the Cobra might be the way to go because it should have more lowend than the Holley....
Oh yeah, I'm spraying a 150 wet shot through it.

I f you are spraying a 150 wet shot then definitely go with the Holley.

It has alot better casting and bigger runners. Trust me nitrous backfires suck.

I voted for the Cobra...better for a street oriented setup. Although on the sauce the Holley may be better, as lowend power wouldn't be a concern at that point.

I've always thought the Holley was too freaking huge unless your running big boost or a lot of nitrous. Of course it works out great if that's the direction your planning to go. Just my opinion, but I like the Edelbrock RPM.
