Changing firing order and cam selection
I have a 65 289 block that I have just rebuilt, and I was wondering about changing the firing order on it to the 351w firing order. I read something about putting more even stress on the crank. IS that true?? Does it really matter??
AND has anybody had trouble with any comp cam extreme energy cams in an engine with press in rocker arm studs?? Or have anything good or bad to say about those cams? I will be using stock, gasket matched heads, and am thinking that the xe262 cam (262/270 218/224 .493/.500 110 LSA) will be about the biggest and hopefully the best cam with these heads. Thanks for the help. |
It is true that the regular firing order places more stress on the last crank journal.
You would be foolish, IMO, to install any cam without first switching to screw in studs. Take care, ~Chris |
