To buy off EBAY, or not.....
I'm thinking about buying a 5.0 in a month or two. What do you guys/girls think about Ebay cars? Honestly?
5.0 Convertibles in good condition often go for under 5,000 At collectorcartraderonline.com they are over 7,000+ Let me know where you think I should go to buy one... Buy the way, I want it stock or close to, no street racers ;%) |
I would never buy a car with out driving it first.
Especially a vert, I would want to make sure the top worked right. Later, |
Thats why its cheaper on e-bay. Its a kind of hard to judge a car by the pics. BUT just look in your area, and try to get a look at it before you bid. Just bought a 59 ford off ebay, he lived 3 blocks down from me! Great deal too. Just take your time, that deal will show up.

<The problem with buying a car off of ebay is that you will probably have to travel to see the car after you have won it.You are not obligated to hand over the check if you are missled in any way,and what ever you do don't buy a car sight unseen and have it shipped to you.Another problem is finding a mustang that has not been ragged.Any used car you buy with more than 80k miles will need some repairs down the road. The previous owners got the trouble free 100K miles.Mustangs that have been well kept and maintained and not ragged(well maybe a little)lol, will cost you. They seem to hold their value quite nicely.I searched for over a year for a good deal on a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 and actually found one on ebay of all places,a company named autoshowcase.I bid on it and lost though.I was pissed I figured I'd never find a deal like that again. Then two days later the same car was relisted on ebay with a buy now option. So I wasn't gonna fool around this time so I bought it with the buy now option. The car was in Dallas Tx. I'm in Biloxi, Ms. Autoshowcase picked me up at the airport and brought me to their showroom.Turns out the car needed new tires 17" the web site said it had good tires, the exhaust system needed work, the a/c didn't work, and the starter was dragging, but the car was so clean inside and out, engine tight and very clean.Only two owners on title check thru carfax.com.always run a carfax
So I negotiated the price and I drove it back to Mississippi. I've had to replace the clutch and transmission at 132K miles had 108K when I bought it.T-5's are junk anyway.I hope my experience with ebay helps you.A good place to check out is http://www.performancemustangs.com their in Houston Tx. they have quite a few mustangs to choose from, all 5.0L and they are good people.c-ya, 95/GT/5.0 |
I actually bought my truck off of ebay about a year ago when the retail was about 17,000. I wasn't gonna pass up that truck for 11,000. Not one thing was wrong with the truck. But be careful because not everyone has good luck.

my brother bought his mustang off ebay about a year ago and it was just like as in the ad . he payed $2900 for it with a blown tranny and we fixed it ourselves for $400 and now it is worth about $6000 . just make sure you check the sellers feedback and send him a couple of emails and sometimes you can kind of read what kind of person he/she is according to their response .
