subframe connectors
is there a performance difference bolt on and weld on subframe connectors. i was looking for some and came to this question. is one weaker than the other or is it just preference.
You definitely want the weld in sub frame connectors. With the bolt in SFC's the bolt holes start to oval out and the SFC's become worthless.
I'd say preference. I have the BBK bolt ins, but I welded them in. I think the bolt ins are better to weld cause they contour the existing frame.
good luck:) |
I put Kenny Brown Weld ons last night and so far I love them. I have been told to go with welding ones.
The name of the game is eliminating flex. By welding the subframe connectors, you are bonding the two pieces together as one. Bolting them together, while better than nothing, allows the chassis to flex more than welding them.

would i have any exhaust clearance probs. would you recommend putting exhaust on before subs?
Subframes aren't mounted anywhere near the exhaust that would interfere with it.
Here are some Kenny Brown subframes WELDED on. (the black stuff, not the Blue suspension components). YOU decide if you can put on an exhaust before/after...
