Rear upgrade install price
 

We're upgrading the rear in our 88GT got all the parts 4.10s, Eaton POSI, 31-spline axles. We're having all this installed for $250. Is this a good price for all these parts and new bearings if needed?

Just want to clarify - the $250 is for labor only no parts. We've already got all the parts.

Sound good, someone told me they new a guy who setup rearends good and would charge $150, which was supposedly a good price from what I've heard. $250 for setting up the carrier and installing the axles seems pretty cheap.

Very good $ for the install, especially if it is by someone who has done many before. If you have done rear gears yourself, you know that it can get time consuming, especially if you are not using FMS gears and are having fits with getting the shims right and taking everything in and out several times. Sounds like a small price to pay for a free Saturday. The Eaton will treat you well and it is rebuildable, unlike the Auburns.

Thanx for the info, my son and I are looking forward to getting this work done. Should be a blast once we get the car back!
