Is this 1/8 time fast?

There is a guy around here saying how his mustang runs high 8's in the 1/8 mile.
I didn't get his mph so I can't use the analyzer to convert to a 1/4 time.
I doesn't sound like an impressive 1/4 runner in my opinion and was wondering if anyone knew approx. what that would be in 1/4 times. I am guessing 13's

Yeah, 13s.

It's (most likely) not a stock stang if he's running high 8s in the 1/8. I'd say that's fast. Then again, someone who runs 9's in the 1/4 would say that's slow as constipated crap. It just all depends on how much the stang has been modded.

My car went 8.70 @78.54 mph in the 1/8th mile with Drag suspension, exhaust, underdrive pulleys, k&n, and 3.55 gears.
60ft was 2.02

That should be around a 13.5 @98mph.

I usually ran around 80mph but the mph was a little slow that run.

I'd say thats quick not fast. However (not saying my car is fast) i ran a 8.89@82+ mph with crappy traction and launch and ended up with a 13.8 at nearly 108mph. So it also depends on the driver. Most of my runs, i'm new to this car, are in the high 8's - should be in the low 8's. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

hope this helps.. in the nhra rule book it says u have to have a cage in your car if u run a 11.99-1/4 or 7.49 1/8 so to me that says a 11.99 is = to a 7.49 12.99 = 8.49 and so on.. hope that gives a general idea i had to get used to that 1/8 mile stuff i just moved to tenn and the only 1/4 mile track is bristol.. hell in ohio thats all u had was 1/4. its wierd

to get a rough estimate multiply your 1/8 time by 1.55 and your mph by 1.25 this is just an estimate not exact specification hope this helps.
