Got my Hanlon kit
I received the T-5 rebuild kit from Hanlon finally. Actually it only took about a week to get here. I took the tranny apart as far as my limited ability can take me and am waiting for the video I also ordered but didn't get. I think someone forgot to pack it with the kit. Anyway, Linda is supposed to get back with me Monday and get it right. So far all I need to replace is the driven gear for fifth gear. It has some small chips missing from a few teeth. I figure I'll need both the driven and driver gears. (quick. . somebody tell me I don't need both) Does anyone know if the gear cluster comes apart? I can't seem to get the stupid thing out of the case. It almost does it but since it won't bend too easy, an inch is as good as a mile. The video should tell me but I thought if someone knew how it comes from together, I could get a jump on this thing.

i know the clutster in my stock 95 trans is all one piece, once you have everything out of the trans the cluster should come out with no problem.
i have the video for the tremec, helped me out tremendously my first time |
hi there...
i got a rebuild kit from them about 2 weeks ago... here's a first tip: do a web search for "T5 Rebuild: The saga" and you'll find one hell of a guide to doing a good job on your rebuild! ;) you don't need both 5th drive gear (the big one) and 5th driven gear (the little one). they're actually both a matched set, but if you get a new one or the other, you won't have any noisy gears... no, the cluster gear does not come apart. you actually need to remove the rear bearing on the cluster gear in order to get it out of the case... good luck!!! p.s. before you reinstall the shift block (the big block thing that the shifter moves), make sure you remove the old roll pin before putting it back together... |
