VERY convencing reason not to drink and drive

This litterly made me tear up. I hope none of you drink and drive, but if you do, I hope this will stop you.:(

That is truly an eye opening site Josh. I hope it encourages people that have drank and drove in the past to hand the keys to someone more responsible.

jj_jonathon 01-31-2003 01:22 AM

thats very devastating...

i dont know why people drink and drive..its so irresponsible...i always call in people when i see them swurving...its such a waste...people should get a worse punishment than they do for DUIs...

:(

She does a tv spot they show here in Texas. All you see is someone holding up the picture in front of the camera (the same one shown first in the presentation) and talking about what she wanted to do with her life and after she talks a while, she drops the picture to show her face. I often wonder why the drunks don't die when these things happen. This time, I think he got an even better justice.

Hethj7 01-31-2003 10:32 AM

Wow, that really makes you think. So often when you are out you hear "I've just had a few" or " I just live down the road".

I know I have been guilty of this too, and I am sure many of us overestimate our abilities to handle alcohol. While I have never driven in a state where I couldn't stay between the lines or see very well, I admit I have driven at times when my reaction times were probably impaired. It seems like no big deal at the time, but driving under the influence could very well be a life changing decision.

Stang_Crazy 01-31-2003 11:30 AM

I don't even bother with alcohol anymore. It doesn't do any good for my body or my mind...not to mention it's a depressent.

I wonder what kind of sentence that kid got, because whatever it was, it wasn't enough.

It doesn't seem real that things like that actually turn out that bad, I don't know if i'd want to live through something like that. Anybody know what happened to the guy who was DUI????

If i was her, i would want to die.:( That woman has more courage than all MW members combined.:(

I don't know how she does it......

bigbandjohn 02-01-2003 01:11 PM

Just goes to confirm why if I'm driving I won't even have 1 drink.

RedLilPony 02-03-2003 11:40 AM

This web site is an awful eye-opener BUT the commercials they play starring Jacqueline here in Austin are TRUELY sad.

Ponygirl67 02-04-2003 10:28 PM

That is so unbelievable sad...........I was hit by a drunk driver on Friday night, luckily I was in my Pickup and saw her lose control as she was coming around the corner, there was nothing I could do but get as far off the road as I could, she clipped the front of my truck as she was spinning around.......luckily no one was hurt, but people walk that road all the time, so she was lucky she hit me and not someone walking, she called her boyfriend and they tried to talk me out of calling the cops, but I already had........she spent the night in jail..........hopefully when all is said and done, she will think twice next time........it is just not worth it.....:(:(

I just usually come here and read, but never post. This thread just caught my attention. That is one of the most devasting things I have ever seen. Noticing in the pics that her home country was Venezuela. If that is where the accident happened; then probally nothing happened to the driver. Considering that DUI isnt enforced much there. So sad.

Thanks,
Brandon

There are many reasons not to drink and drive. Jail, fines, loss of licence are only a few.

I would be so pissed at myself if I damaged my car! As a mustang owner I'm very proud of it.

Through in the loss of life and it takes the cake! If any thing ever happened to my wife or family and I would make it a personal vendetta to kick that guy's *** so he'd never drink again!

Unfortunately I hear too many storys about the guy that's been busted 5+ times and is still driving, or the guy that got busted and has his licence taken away, but drives anyway (I knew a guy that this happened to).

Everyone can make a mistake, but after 3 or more times, it's no longer a mistake....

Stang_Crazy 02-05-2003 01:55 PM

There was a story on the local news last month about a guy who had been convicted of DUI over20 times!!!! and he was still driving. I didn't watch the report because it would have just pi$$ed me off. It's scary to think there are people like this driving everyday.
