Anyone using Victor jrs or AFR 205 's ???
 

Hey everyone, im looking at getting heads with my tax refund, I hear a bunch of good things about the AFR 205 heads, excellent flow #s etc, but i've never heard anything about the edelbrock victor jrs, i'm sure they are a good head, the price difference is what im looking at, the Victor jrs are 1200 to the 1700 of the afrs, i can get an intake too if i go with the cheaper head, but whats your guys opinion?? afr or edelbrock? I hear edelbrocks heads are of excellent quality

The Edelbrocks quality is #1. The AFRs are touted to make a little more hp with the right setup though. Personally I like the Edels and their intakes as a combo. Im running the vic jrs and the 5.0 victor and it runs like mad on top and the fit is top notch. The heads dont require a special bolt pattern on the exhaust or special intake. Good luck either way....

thats the intake i was planning on running with either head, what kind of performance have u seen? Track times? Dyno?

I have the vic jr heads and the victor jr 50 intake. Expecially with my cam, I can feel the power start to build at the 3k mark. I haven't been to the track since I bolted my setup together, I hope soon though.... IMO: since your going to get the Edelbrock intake anyways, I would get the heads to match because they are designed to go together and they are already ported to match. Also, keep in mind if you are going with either head, it wil hurt you more then help you if you don't pull more then 400hp at the wheels.

i talked to brian at TEA and he told me he has a few guys running the victor jr heads on 408's box stock running 10's and one in the 9's with some juice...

ill also be running these heads with my 408 im building...very good head for the price...
