Need help ASAP Please!!!

I have a friend who just got his truck out of the paint and body shop. The truck is a 97 dodge ram with a v8. The truck is idling between 250 and 500 rpms. He can keep it running by pressing the gas, but as soon as he lets off it dies. He said the only thing they did under the hood is disconnect the battery. He needs the truck to go to work at 4:00 and can't drive it right now. If you have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

a buddy of mine got his mustang back from a paint shop about a week ago, it ran like crap when he got it back. it ended up being that they washed down the motor and got everything wet, we put a heater on it and it ran ok the next day.
maybe thats it?

I just talked to him again and the only thing they did was disconnect the battery because of the alarm. Thanks for the suggestion.

Since its a new truck, sometimes the computers get messed up when the battery is disconnected. Sometimes the engine runs fine, sometimes the computers takes a day or two to adjust itself. This used to happen in my 93 Beretta, aftetr the battery was disconnected, it used to run like sh*t for a few days, sometimes just shutting off when braking!! The after 2 days, the computers adjust and the car is like it was. Just my thoughts.
