t5 swap questions :)

hey guys. I almost have everything needed.... I'm missing the nuetral safety switch and t5 shifter bezel but no biggy. I have a question about my flywheel. Why must I resurface the flywheel before i install it???? do i NEED to have it resurfaced???? thanks!

you dont really "NEED" to, but it would be good idea.

the flywheel gets glazed from the heat and friction and after awhile the holding power is decreased. so get it cut (resurfaced) its reassurance that you clutch isnt going to slip when you put it in.

Yeah. . .what he said.
Also! These things have a habit of developing tiny little stress cracks in the surface which can grow into big ole ugly shrapnel pieces. Your machinist should be able to tell you if the flywheel needs to be trashed or not.

Its kind'a like rotors.... do you NEED to turn them just to replace a fresh set of pads...
