Launch Rpm Vs. Stall Speed

I am running a powerglide tranny with a transbrake in my car. I have a 4000 stall convertor in it recommend by the manufacturer based on my engine set up. My question is how do I determine the best launch rpm? I have heard about true stall, flash stall, etc. The convertor maker said to launch 500 rpm under the stall. How do I determine the actual stall speed and how do I use that to get the most out of my launch. When I launch at 3500 the car goes hard and straight with no wheel spin, but I want to maximize my launch.

stall all depends on the power output of your motor, the more power the closer your going to be to what the company rates it at.
my guess is that you are going to get 3500-3700 stall out of it.

sounds to me like you have it all setup good for now, 3500 msd chip in 2 step, t brake, stall.

pull up to the line, hit the t brake (should have trans brake and 2 step on same button) floor the car, when you want to go realease the button.

ps. i dont mean to sound like im talking to you like your a dumbass, i just wanted to cover everything.

This MSD 2-step thing you mentioned...is it an ACTUAL CHIP? Or is it one of their ignition boxes... I was looking at getting a 6AL box, but if there's one that has a 2-step rev limiter, I'd really enjoy that...I've got a lead foot. ;)
