I haven't got as far as you yet but through my "research" I was told by a couple people that you might need a crossmember that can be welded together. It comes in 3 seperate pieces and is made by Ford Motorsports. Call Summit (1800-230-3030) and ask a sales rep. gOOD LUCK

ok, loosen the 2 bolts that hold the mount to the tranny the put the cross member in and see if it works. you may get enough play that way. when changing the tranny you need the adjustable cross member which slides foward and back. you can get that from jegs if you dont have it. worse case would be to just make the slots a little longer.

When I installed FMS double hump crossmember,I had to make the slots a little larger. It was no big deal.

the proper way is to cut the welds and move it back. or buy the movable one like i said. but i guess you can grind it to.

well that is what i ment i took my dremel today and cut the factory weld found out that one was already broke and had a budd y of mine reweld it tonight longer welds.. i could not believe the factory welds off of this cross member were the size of a bbe in dia and about a 1/4 inch long.. i was like hell.. but yea that is what i did
