hood lift w/ supports

Has anyone installed one of those kits that use lift supports to raise the hood? Year One sells them. The kit eliminates the hood prop rod and is said not to interfere with anythings, including strut braces. Any experience/info?

You remove ONE rod, and replace it with TWO (taht dont get in the way?)...

no, u don't replace the prop rod, u just don't need to use it. 2 lift supports lift the hood by themselves, the same way lift supports raise the hatch on a hatchback

I've been told that they can bow fiberglass good over time. That is about it. I like them myself. My Dakota has something similar to the supports, and my parents T-bird and Exploder has the ones your talking about.

These hood shocks look pretty cool to me. That damn hood prop always seems in the way. Here is an article and install site.

Hatch back shock from a 2nd generation dodge colt / mirage will do. Minor adjustment needed and it doing the job very fine. I got one on the passenger side and alone it can lift the hood.

From the driver side i got a little problem. The plastic cap over the coil and some other wires is on the way. But this one is not really needed and in fact just to do a perfect job.

The funny thing is that all you need is

- Dodge hatchback dodge colt/mirage shock
- Four metal auto drilling screw and 4 bushing by side.
- a drill :D

My pony is reborn from a wreck in 1991 so maybe you'll not need adjusment at all if your car have never been smashed.

Hope this help
