Which is the best air intake system for carbs?

I have an 84 GT with a 351w. I am currently running a 4 inch high paper filter air cleaner. Which of these is the best set up for a carbed car?
1. Use a K&N filter with an X stream lid

2. Make a ram air set up running from the foglight holes to the big holes in the fender weel to bring in more cool air.

3. Buy a ram air system like the ram air box that is a complete ram air system.

Which one would work best and will it increase my hp any?

What did you have in mind?

The best I can think of for a carb? Enclose the carb and mount a ram air scoop to feed it through a hole in the hood. The best filter is no filter at all but for a street car thats not really a good idea. The next best thing is probably the K&N. The gains probably wouldn't be very significant.

I tried going with a ram air system breathing from the slots in my air dam with the dual snorkel air cleaner and a K&N replacement filter and didn't get any extra ET or MPH out of it. My car did pick up from a 14x3" K&N open element with a chrome lid. The most important thing with a carb is to have enough filter area to feed the motor.

I would a combo between 1 and 3. Get the X treme lid and an SVO ram air hood. It will bring air in above the carb.
