No problem....This is what I think of your new motor -->http://www.westsidemustangs.com/foru.../icondrool.gif

Ahh...brings back fond memories of my 331 build-up this past summer.

Looks good. BTW, whose stroker package did you go with? And what other items (intake, heads, cam, etc) are going on this bad boy? Final compression?

Should be a fun motor for you. :)

QUOTE:whose stroker package did you go with?

I put it together and didnt opt to go with a package, i got the block from ky core $100, i got the hawks crank $170, hawks rods $369, je\srp pistons $cant remember , main girdle $100, gear drive $100, all from ebaymotors under tmd. Im running an f-cam with the old d8oe 351 windsor heads that have 1.94int and 1.60 exhaust that were already p and p for $50 at the columbus swapmeet. The compression should be fairly low cause of the heads between 8.5:1 and 9.0:1. But i plan on supercharging or turbocharging the motor.

cyberstang5.0 03-05-2003 11:08 AM

Let me know how you like the gear driving timing chain. When I built mine, I wanted to get it, but it is said to "whine" like a supercharger. I didn't want any weird noises coming from my car. I want to hear nothing but exhaust :D I went with the FMS double roller chain.

What is that you have in the water jackets?

Z28EATR 03-06-2003 08:37 AM

whats in the water jackets?

you know i kinda didnt put much into what that is, i kinda sticks out in the pics thought dont it, i think upon closer inspection it looks to be some old corrosion from radiator fluid. Any ideas on how to clean that up?

WADS56 03-06-2003 10:25 AM

If that is some sort of buildup your whole cooling system must of been shot. I wouldn't even think the raidiater(sp) would flow any water with that type of gunk building up in there. It kind of looks like hard block in there, but it is to uneven. Is it hard as a rock, or dry crust?

Z28EATR 03-06-2003 03:45 PM

its dry and crusty, its not hard at all, i dont understand i had the block hot tanked, shouldnt it have gotten all that crap out??

Z28EATR 03-07-2003 02:07 PM

ill check the block this weekend, but im not really sure what it is.
