BIGS CARBS, anyone use one???

Anyone have any experience with a Bigs double pumper? I'm looking the get one soon.

???????????
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna try one out, I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with one. They're supposed to have good responce and overall be better than an out of the box double pumper, plus they come in different colors, I'll probably get black/silver.

ANYONE???????????????

I see them on Ebay all the time. They want like 600.00 for there stage 5 750 cfm double pumper. I would rather get the Quickfuel Q-seris 750 cfm for 555.00 in summit or jegs if I was going to spend that much.
I just bought a carb 2 days ago after doing about a month of hard research. I ended up buying a almost new Holley hp 750cfm tuned by Reed for 425.00 off of Ebay. IMO I would do the same as I have. Get a used one off ebay that has been tuned, and flowed and save big time.

the one i was looking at (stage 1) was $429 which didn't seem too bad, especially being tuned/run before they send it out.

Thats cool. I thought you were looking at a race carb. You may want to check out AED's tuned carb. It is in the same ball park as the stage 1 and is 399.00.

Who carries AED carbs? I wouldn't mind checking them out. I'm just looking for a double pumper, probably a 650 that'll have good responce and won't studder/hesitate and get the most out of my combo, but still have a manual choke since I drive it everyday.

Save your money!!!!!

I sent a holley HP 650 to them to get dyno tuned for my stang.
Before I sent it, I took note of all my settings, jets and such. I got it back and looked at what was changed. Not a single jet, air bleed, Power valve or pump cam was changed!

They basically powdercoated the carb's bowls and charged me 300 bucks to do it. Even that is flaking off.

I would just buy a new Holley HP from Summit or Jegs and it will be 10 times the carb you will get form these people.

I was told to call them back to see what they would do to fix it. I did and still no refund or explaination.

Did it feel any different after you got it back? Supposedly they do some "SECRET" work to the inside of the carb and smooth out castings and whatever else. I'm just thinking if it's at all better than the Holley it might be worth spending the little extra, but not if the finish is going to look like sh*t and it won't perform any different. How are the Demon carbs, would they have any benefit over a holley?

leefantozi 03-09-2003 03:18 PM

Nope, nothing done to it but the new color and clear site bowl plugs (that broke in a matter of a week).

Anyways, I would be happy to charge you 300 bucks to do "SECRET" work to anything on your car tooo.

Kinda like the last week of the birth control pill, you think it actualy does something but its really a sugar pill.:p

Dont get me wrong, I hear good and bad about this company but I have only experienced bad.

They say they DYNO tune your carb for your specific engines needs. Well I gave them all my spec's and they didnt change a damn thing. :(

A waste of money in my book, they will never get my business again.

Well sh*t, I probably won't mess with getting one of their carbs then, plus my name's Steve too so I'll probably have the same sh*tty luck as you did (not that I usually don't anyway). I'll probably try one of the Demon carbs, maybe the Speed Demon 650 - are the SPEED Demons the equivilant of a Holley Double Pumper, I fiured hte road demons were a more general perf. good street carb, but I want a double pumper style that'll give pretty good performance, but still be available with a manual choke so it'll start decent in the cold. Who had the best deals on Demons?
