Witnessed a flipped mustang today...

Sitting in the parking lot of Kentucky fried chicken today in my F150 eating lunch. All of a sudden loud screeches and bangs. I look over my shoulder and see a big mess. This 17 year old kid was doing about 100 mph, lost control, and hit two parked full size pick ups in the kfc parking lot. He hit them as he was flipping, since he hit the curb. Luckily no one inside them. This was a convertible cobra, and he is lucky to be alive. Yes they pulled him out and flew him to the hospital but alive. I have lots of pics but here is the local news story.. www.sptimes.com

Just had to tell my mustang buddies about this one.

That's horrible:( I have a convertible Cobra and have always wished that convertible muscle cars came with some sort of roll bar or cage....though that would probably somehow hurt sales (based on looks or something I guess). Best of luck to the kid and his family:(

That is soooo sad..... and that is why you don't buy your kids fast cars who can't appreciate what they have. :(

feel bad for his family....as for him, you get whats coming to you! I've been lucky with some of the stuff I've pulled in the past, but the second I get myself into trouble I'll know it was because I did something stupid! oh well....it's too bad I agree with 1969mach1, you really need to think about the type of car you allow your kid to drive....just learning to be a responsible driver takes years. I'm positive if I had access to such a fast machine in the first couple of years I started driving that I would have wrecked it! haha oh well

good pic...glad you weren't hurt

This is why you don't let kids drive daddy's car:mad: :rolleyes:

Being a 17 year old girl with a fast car i am subject to this type of criticism... Driving experience comes into play but it is also being responsible. I don't drive like an *** all the time and i know the power under me and i respect it. that power is meant for the track and not on the street! there were 5 fox bodies at my school, mine being the fastest and only owned by a girl.... 1 crashed into a telephone poll, two crashed into snow banks, and the other crashed into something not sure what though. most people think that a young kid shouldnt have a car, but i think it should be that irresponsible people shouldnt have fast cars. I have seen quite a few adults in accidents where the street races are by my house.. Its unfortunate about this kids accident but i dont think that young people should be criticized for having fast cars if they can handle the temptation and be responsible

that is sad, to drive that way in a parking lot, what an idiot.

BLACK85GT 03-06-2003 10:31 PM

He was driving down the road, hit the curb and flipped into the parking lot, pushing two parked trucks out of the way. The trucks were front wheels to curb, and were both pushed about 10 feet.

oh, I thought he was in the parking lot, still an idioot to be driving that fast in a busy area:(
