1984 Dashpad: Replace or Cap-has anyone done it?
Just wondering what everyones experience has been. The cap is cheaper than a full replacement, but I think the cap would be pretty noticeable. Who are the good suppliers out there? Thanks!

For the life of me I can't find a new dash pad! anyway here are 2 links where you could get a glue-on hard cover:
www.sacramento-mustang.com www.yearone.com I don't recommend it because you CAN tell you're not looking at the original dash. Hope you find one! |
www.texasmustang.com has the replacements.

I went to the site and checked it out, go to the classic mustangs page. Searce for DASH PAD under interior and 1986 for the year, they're on the 3rd page of the search results. You can also usually find them on ebay or on a few of the pages in 5.0 magazines. They usually sell for around $180 for a new replacement, sometimes closer to $100 for a mint cond. pull out on ebay.

I bought a dash pad cover that you glue on the fit is pretty good. alot better than looking at the cracked dash I put the cover on 2 years ago and it is still in great shape but I think the only color was black I got it from a local zibart rustproof shop it was like 90 buck
good luck |
