Deer = The Enemy
 

I think the population of deer in this country have specifically targeted me with a big invisible bullseye only visible by the deer themselves. It's a conspiracy I tell you. I own a white '97 Mustang GT and I've had it in the shop twice now in the past 5 months due to accidents involving deer. I had three run out in front of me back in November and did a job on the front end of my beloved 'stang, then here almost a month ago I had one do a running headbutt into the right quarterpanel. I just now got my baby out of the shop... woo hoo! I'm mounting a rocket launcher anti-deer campaign into the woodlands of America. Who's with me!!! :D

Ihate deer too. They have to be one of the dumbest animals. They see lights and instead of running away from it they play chicken and most of the time lose.
I just got back from a trip to Lousiana and there were numerous dead deer and big patches of blood on the roads.
I few years ago I had a deer run right smack into the driverside of my mustang........and i was not even moving!
Oh well there wasnt much damage.

All I can say is I havn't had any deer chili yet, but does sound good. Till I joined the AF, I used to hunt all the time. It's the hunters who try to keep down the population. But then the tree huggers screw it all up for us and make things harder. There is a balance and we hunters play a big part of it. As long as your not poching, everything goes well. Most states have a very good idea on how many hunting licences to issue based on the % of the deer pop. If it's low, then not many licences are given. If it's high, or too high. Then they might give out a crap load to make a balance.

I've never actually had it. He makes it too spicy for me. Burns my tongue. lol

Haha...I know what you mean. Up here on the plains, we don't have to worry too much about deer...but we gotta keep an eye out for pheasant.

However, I worked a 6 week clincal rotation in which we did a lot of traveling for home health. Over to Flomot, Matador, Floydada, Quitique, Turkey, etc. In that area of the caprock, you gotta be on your toes. A big mulie can ruin your afternoon right quick and in a hurry.

I've had a couple of people I know get their vehicles crunched by animals (wild and livestock). My father was driving the 80's work suburban through the caprock at dusk and rounded a corner at 70mph into a herd of cattle that had gotten out. They managed not to hit any head on, but they sideswiped a few, and they got one on the head with the passenger bumper. It killed it instantly, flung it around, and the hind quarter of the cow smashed in the passenger door where it couldn't be opened. Also, when it was killed, it immediately lost bowel and bladder control, thus spraying the entire side of the suburban in crap and urine.

Another buddy just finished painting his '84 GT350 (goes by 84gt347 on here) and was down in Possum Kingdom when a deer bolts out of the brush and smacks his door.

And another friend was driving his brand new Xterra when another friend's horse got loose and ran into the road. He hit it, the horse's head came through the windshield and stayed there while the body of the horse was thrown up and over the truck completely smashing the roof in and totalling the vehicle.

Livestock can be fatal if you hit them at high speeds. Not to mention, they mess up your car.
