Track times - whats up?

So I finally went to the track since I blew up my motor last year. I installed 373's earlier this week which really helped. Anyway I ended up running a best of 14.52 @ 98 mph. I do have an automatic convertible with stock stall, but dont those numbers seem a little slow? Thoughts?

that is really slow for what you have. if I was you I would get a 2600 stall at least and then a nice big shot of Nitrous. I live in utah and all motor with headers H-pipe and cat back 4.10s I ran that so I would do something. at least you have a good start to your car. good luck oh yeah what is your traction like?

My 88GT vert 5 speed ran a 14.04 @3000ft with an untouched engine.

I would expect your car to trap 102-103mph and run a mid 13.

OK here is your problem---------Your car is slammed/Lowered wich doesnt allow the weight to transfer to the rear wheels. Not to mention you are running 17 inch rims with 275/45/17's which also suck for drag racing cause of the weight and short stiff sidewall of the tire.

I bet your 60ft sucked and thats why your car is running slow.

Here is the solution I am sure your car looks great but your set-up is less than ideal for drag racing. Mount some slicks on some 15 inch rims 26X8X15 MT ET streets.

Basicly you have all these power mods and cant get the power to the ground. If you really want to see what your car can do get some slicks. (You wont regret it)

my 60 foots were 2.2, 2.3, and my worst was a 2.8. If I could get htis time sub 1.9 would I be in the 13's?

Stang_Crazy 03-15-2003 08:03 PM

With a sub 1.9 60', you should be able to run a 13. Like Dark said, get some ET Streets. They will be a quick solution to lower 60' times and a lower 1/4.

Every tenth you knock off of your 60ft=1.5 tenths off of your ET.

So yes it is possible to hit a 13 with a good 60ft.

I think I'll go get a dyno tune, will post results next week this time or so.
