Please Help

I recently had an off roax x-pipe and cold air induction kit installed on my 1996 Ford Mustang GT (Convertible) by Mustang Motosports. Shortly thereafter, that dreaded check engine light came on. It has the mil eliminators installed.

After the light can on I took it back to Mustang Motorsports and they told me I needed to replace the 02 Sensors so I did. The next the day the light came on again. I took the car to the local Autozone to have the codes pulled (P0136 and P0146). Everything was fine before the performance mods. Could it be that the mil eliminators are bad, or the cold air induction kit has something to do with the light coming on. The car has 99K miles.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Moved To modular Forum, Believe it will get more attention there.

Thanks

CAI's are notorious for causing disturbances with the stock MAF. That's where your problem lies, not the x-pipe. I don't run one, but if you do a search, I believe the answer has been stated more than once.

Deuce is right, take off the crappy CAI and clear the codes...

Then see if you still get a problem...

Before ditching your CAI, you could try rotating your mass air meter clockwise about one hour, if you will (imagine the mas is a clock, just rotate it one "hour" one way or the other. Try clockwise first and see what happens. Clear your codes after you rotate it but before starting the engine.

THANKS

Thanks for the info guys. I spoke with the folks at Pony Express Performance - told them what the codes were and they told me those codes indicated pass. rear 02 sensors, or exhaust leak on pass. side. Likely culprit - mil eliminators bad.

I'm waiting for the folks who installed my x-pipe to order me some new mileliminators. Hopefully that will fix the problem
