Are the neutral safety switch and the reverse wire harness on a T5 the same thing?

They are not the one in the same but are in the same harness that feeds through the trans tunnel.

ok cool, so then what is the wire harness that comes outta the top of the t5? because i don't have it and i'm probably not going to use it for my swap. thanks

There are the neutral saftey switch, a harness for the reverse light , and one for the speed sensor. The plug on top is the for the neutral saftey switch.
