Lakewood traction bars

I was wondering where should I set my Lakewood Traction bars on my stang. i.e the gap between the rubber snubber and the chassis

I set my Lakewood traction bars about 1/4" away from the chassis on each side. I'd have someone sit in the driver's seat of the car while you are positioning the bars. Because 90% of the time you are probably driving the car alone, so you want the bars set up for that. If you set them with no one sitting on the driver's side...when you jump in your car...the driver's side traction bar might then be touching the chassis. Once you definitely have the bars all dialed into the right position...you may want to tack weld the bars to the rearend in a couple of places. I had to weld mine because they were slipping when launching with slicks at the track.
