Which Wheels for Drag Use?
I'll be buying two (2)wheels to mount my street slicks on. I wanted your opinions on the following choices:
1) 15x8.5" Centerline - Auto Drag 2) 15x8.5" Centerline - Convo Pro 3) 15x8" Weld - Pro Star Also, I have a five lug conversion, and the rear fender lips have been rolled for clearance. With these wheels, the largest tire I'll use is 275/50/15. I'll need 5" backspacing, right? ------------------ Russ L '91 LX Procharger, 3 row intercooler, extrude honed Cobra intake, Mac full Length Headers, 30# inj., 73mm C&L, 75mm tb, E303 cam, 289 rods, ported E7 heads, MSD, T-Rex w/255 lph Walbro, 5 lug conversion, Cobra R wheels, 3.27 gears and Moser Axles. |
I love both the AutoDrags and the Pro Stars. I was going to go with the Pro Stars for my car, but decided otherwise. I ended up getting AutoDrags. I love them! They are so awesome! I liked the brushed aluminum better than the polished too. But the polished still looks really sweet!

If you want the absolute lightest wheels for drag racing, then I'd check out either Bogart or Monocoque. Lightness is crucial if you're serious about your 1320 performance. I've got Welds now, but if I had it to do all over again, I'd probably go with Bogarts.

No contest - Center Line Convo Pro. These wheels rock and they are very light. The crumpled aluminum look is unique. And they have a satin center with polished outer, great looking wheel.

absolutely right Jeff Chambers. If you want the best wheels for "DRAG RACING ONLY" then Bogarts would be the way to go.
