a 4.6 DOHC??? Cool!!! What are your plans for it (besides the quiet mufflers ;) :D )

Im going to get some of the usual cobra bolt ons. Figure out why its not running right. It needs some body work and a paint job for sure... After that Im just looking for some new mustang gt or cobra leather seats for the inside and then I'll be drivin her.. Hopefully should run in the 110+ range.

Thanks guys its a 93 burgundy notch. (* cobra motor, has a chip and air meter. Tremec 3550, cobra rear w/ 3.27's. Coil over and tubular K member up front. THe front end rides HORRIBLE, and theres something wrong with it, ti doesnt have hardly any power righ tnow. So still figuring that all out.

Do you know what the spring rate of those front coilovers is? I run 350 lb/in up front and the ride is fairly tolerable. I used to have 275 lb/in up front and the ride was almost plush even though the handling was much improved over stock. Also make sure your front swaybar is not bound up or heavily pre-loaded at ride height; my ride was horribly harsh for a while and I figured out that's what it was (hit the sway bar on a hump on a crappy backroad going about 40mph and it damaged the mounts and caused binding).

Skyman 04-11-2003 12:57 PM

Thanks for the info, I'll check that.... How do you know the spring rate?

Thanks

Some coilover springs have a part number on them that you could figure it out from, otherwise you would have to ask the previous owner or check receipts if he provided those.

Sweet deal, Sky! I love my 5.0, but it would be pretty sweet to have the mod motor in my Stang. Good luck getting all the bugs worked out.

That's awesome Skyler! Have you been able to do any diagnostics on it yet (retrive OBDII codes?)

Crazy Horse GT 04-11-2003 10:26 PM

sweet skyman , good luck with the ride. a notch with the mod engine, nice, hope you get it worked out. l8ter. ;) :D :D :D :D

Skyman 04-12-2003 02:29 PM

No luck w/ pervious owner. Where can I get a cheap code scanner for this car?

Thanks

Skyler

Hethj7 04-13-2003 01:28 PM

Can't you just get those scanners at any auto parts store? I think they run like 20 bucks.

red82gt 04-13-2003 09:19 PM

Most everybody whose done a swap into an older car has run an aftermarket injection system. Check out www.wmsracing.com their system uses the original harness and sells for $1000 USD. It may sound like a bunch but it will be much easier than chasing demons with a stock computer plus you can sell off your MAF to recover some of the cost. There's a guy in Calgary running a nitroused 5.4 L notch with the DOHC navigator motor with the WMS dfi system and it runs like a factory car.

Thanks red, definatly something to look into.... That link doesnt work though, is that the right site?

Thanks
