cam noise in 02 GT

Hey guys, i have a 2002 GT with 13k on the clock. When i cold start the car the cam rattle and make noise for about 15 minutes after being started. Its between 3000 and 3500 rpm. But the car is strong and doesnt feel like it has lost any power. Just wandering if any of you have this problem with your cars.

thanks eric

the noise i doubt is coming from the cams i have the same thing only in the morning or first being started forthe day. it comes from the exhaust either the cat shield or the headers it goes away once the engine is warm and the exhaust manifold/headers has expanded.

can you make the noise come and go by playing with the throttle?
It surely has affected my power, its just weird how it comes and goes. Do you run synthetic in your car ?

yes i use only sysnthetic throughout the car

When u change the oil are you using 5W-20 oil?? I've heard of the new Ford motors knocking (piston slap) on startup due to using the incorrect oil, sure its a cam noise and not piston slap?

Im pretty sure its not the pistons slapping, It reminds me of my old mitsubishi elcipse. The cam in it made noise and im sure thats what is was. I guy i know that works at the dealership told me it could be the winter fuel that has the anti gel junk in it but winter is over now. I use Mobil 1 oil in it, i have to use 5w-30 since i cant find the 5w-20 anywhere.

thanks
