Anyone have body modifications on their mustang?
I've been contemplating putting a body mod kit on my '97 Mustang GT.... ground effects or somethin' like that. I want to add a little spice to the way my mustang looks. I'd like to set my car apart from all the other mustangs in my town and I need something that looks vicious to scare away all the little sport compacts that keep messing with me. I can't resist a street race and if they don't leave me alone I'm gonna get a ticket... lol
Do any of you guys/gals have a mustang with body modifications? Does anyone know of a good package to go with or where I should look for a decently priced one? ...anyone have pictures? Thanks! |
Mine is not a 97, but you can see mine is not stock :D
It depends on what you want your car to look like. Check out www.saleen.com and www.steeda.com and www.cervinis.com for body part with pics. The first thing I would go with is getting a new hood. |
You're right about it keeping the ricers from trying to race you, however you'll end up having them try to talk to you everywhere you go. Telling you how "cool" your car is, and asking if you have "naws".
It will also has the effect of making all the real cars want to race you. Weither it's to find out if your car is as fast as it looks, or remind you that your car is still slow... they'll make you feel like an idiot everytime. Here's mine: http://talon3.homestead.com/files/pics/Untitled-9.jpg Someone crossed traffic and hit me so insurance paid for the body kit. I've been trying as fast as I can to get the car to move ever since then. A '95 AODE vert is not the fastest thing on the road, even if it is a GT. The three companies cyberstang5.0 listed are all known for their high quality kits, and each has a unique look. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. |
Those 3 companies mentioned also are the least ricey of the aftermarket kits in my opinion.

I've always thought about putting a ground effects kit on my car. I remember how excited I was when I put the spoiler on, it made my car look different from other LX's.
That's a very nice looking car cad http://forums.mustangworks.com/images/icons/icon14.gif |

I really like the Saleen body kit. I love Blue00GT's body kit, :D By far one of my favorite looking 99+ Stangs. :D :D :D

Thanks, 1969Mach1! I'll have to post some new pics of it when I get a chance with the black rear panels between the taillights, Baer brakes, and Mach I grill that I added.
|
Yeah blue00gt, your mustang does look really nice with that kit on it. I just wonder how good a saleen kit would look on mine. I've got the older body style. Mine's a white '97 GT...

If you put on the saleen body kit do it right, dont half *** it, I see so many half-assed and it looks like crap.
Your car would look great. |

35th Anniversary rear honeycomb panels

Here are a few places that carry them:
www.karkraft.com www.classicdesignconcepts.com http://www.perogie.com/35thMustangparts.htm I could swear that I only paid $89 for the panels and bought the emblems at the local dealership. Looks like they have gone up a bit. |
