"Laying Drags"
Here's the problem:
It was raining, I was at Wendy's at 12:45 in the morning. They drive-thru was a one-lane thru and the car in front broke down. A little frustrated, I punched the gas too hard coming out of the parking lot onto the street. The blacktop was wet (as it was raining) and my tires spun. A cop was sitting about 200 yards down in the other direction came hauling up and wrote me the ticket. So...question...bite it or fight it, and just what is "Laying Drag?" |
Another question, what's the severity of this citation? Is there anything it could possibly be reduced to?
|
i don't think you would win at all , it was wreckless driving not a chance
|
I would fight it if i were you. It wasn't wreckless driving because the pavement was slippery.
So are they gonna write you an unsafe start for spinning your tires on ice at a stoplight? dont think so |
I've never tried this, but...
A cop I once knew said it almost always works to ask the legal opposition if you can plea down to a non-moving violation. I told a friend of mine in college to give this a try, and he came back a week later thanking me on his hands and knees. Maybe its just for speeding tickets, and maybe its just in ohio, or maybe they've changed the way things work, so it's not a sure bet, but its somthing to look into.... -xto |
Yea, I would just go to court and try to get it off. Explain to the judge that you didn't mean to spin tires, it was wet and it was a accident.
|
Alright, thanks guys. I figured I might have an OK shot...well, atleast give it a try. I figured I might get a little help seeing as how this is my first ever violation and I have a 3.8 at Tech...hopefully they'll feel the sympathy. Again, thanks.
