Milage Checking on a 2000 GT

Ok how do I go about checking the milage on my car? Is there a way to do it in the computer? I went on carfax.com to find out more info about my car and was suprised to what I had found. I bought the car on 4/15/02 with 19,754 miles on it. On 8/15/01 the milage was 19,644. And on 5/11/02 the milage was 6,158. Now how could this be cause I had the car for about a month? And how is it possible for someone to OLNY put 110 miles on it in 1 year? That is the difference from 8/15/01 to the day I bought it. On 8/15/01 the milage was 19,644 and when I bought it on 4/15/02 the milage was 19,754. What gives? Thats 8 months with 110 miles on it! So how can I look and find out what the milage actually is on the car? Something I can hook up to the computer and find out? And if so, which computer? The one under the driverside dash or by the passanger side?
Also I need a new engine. A wrist pin went bad in mine. Going to go thoughr Jaspers and get the same exact engine and my buddy is going to put it in for $400. Going to take all the performance parts off the old on, just a T.B., Pulleys, Chrome Air Induction and put on the new engine.
Any help in resloving this would be greatly appricated.

Far as I know the stock EEC does not track mileage. So really it's hard to verify mileage.
