Opinions on Nitto 555R drag radials

How well do they really hook on the street.
I'm runnin on cheapo tires but my car spins
all the way through 2nd & I can't even floor it in
1st let alone launch, what are some other good hooking tires that may give longer life than the nitto's I really dont have many mods. But i'm instreted max hook-up on the street which I believe would be the nitto's.
Thanks
Wes

I have found that the Nitto's hook up much better on the street than a traditional radial tire. And at the track I run them at about 12psi and they hook up fairly well. They also get good mileage on the street considering how soft a tire it is.

I like them alot i still spin them but once they warm up a little they hook nicely. I run 10psi at the track and 18 on the street. The only complaint i get is when people are following me they throw up rocks pretty nasty..

I agree. Once the Nitto's heat up, they hook great on the street but they tend to throw rocks, etc. It shouldn't be a problem inless you're driving down a gravel road or something.
