i have seen a 427 chevy in a honda 600 coupe. used a T400 and an olds rear end. the rear was narrowed soo much they couldnt use a rear suspension, so they used a taller tire and ran the iar pressure a bit lower than normal.

I'll probably give away my age but here's a list of my past extremeties.

454/400 in a '78 Chevette. Camaro subs and a narrowed 9" Ford rearend. Full flip nose and 6 point roll cage.

'80 Plymouth Arrow, 318 automatic. Volare subs with no inner front fender wells to clear the headers.

'72 Mercury Capri, 351 Cleveland, C6 tranny. '75 Mustang II subs and 4 point roll cage. Rear seat left out to accommodate aluminum tubs and fuel cell.

'71 Vega, '65 327/350, Nova subs and a 12 bolt Chevelle rearend.

My favorite was the '85 Mazda RX7 with the '85 Buick GN drive train.

Crazy and scary were every one of these. All were street legal and the slowest was the RX7, an 11 second car.

I'm 39 just have a knack for building wild and unusual rides. I've been into this stuff for 25 years. I won't say how far I went into debt to realize these.

yea i saw some bored texas guys stuff a 383 stroker in a crx, i think they changed it to rwd tho.

i'm not sure if I'd call it "rice" tho..

That's what I propose to do with the Civic. A pro-streeter would be best. The funniest thing would be to do a complete ricegear exterior. NOT POWERED BY HONDA across the hood, excessive wing that's wider and taller than the car, euro taillights and a "bass boat" paintjob (oops! that'd be a lowrider). I'd be hard to disguise the tunnelram with the twin Holleys, so I'd have to get a big hoodscoop and the rear tires should be at least 15 inches wide. N50 Mickey's would be good. Every bigblock compact I've done was rear drive like the Chevette.

I found my photo of my 85 RX7 with the GN drive. Not the best lighting but at least you can see it.

Dude that brings back memories for me. My second car was an 83 RX-7 GSL. Same body style in silver. It was a fun car.

When the Wankel engine died I seached for a replacement and couldn't find one within reasonable price. I then found a rearended Buick GN and came up with a very stock looking car. Before the engine quit I had to replace the u-joint most driveline shops can install GM u-joints in the stock RX shaft. That made it easy to install the Buick trans without ditching the RX diff gearing. The result was this car and you'd never know it was modified. I knew a guy in Seattle that had a 2nd generation with a 5.0 Mustang in it. He named it ReX!

Most defineley pt LOOSER. I just don't like the looks of those cars at all !
