94-95 to 89-93 computer swap?

can someone point me in the right direction to swap a 9AL into a 94-95?i remeber that the stock 94-95 computers suck and i dont need anything to run the tranny(ECU wise) as i have a C-4..am i way off or do i rember that the swap was worth it?

thanks in advanced..

Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Swap in the A9L its a way better ecu than what you got.

HOWWWWW? is it a straight swap in??i thought i had to do stuff to get it to work(ie jump pins??)

I dont know for sure but I think it is a straight up swap.

Either way it cant be too hard cause I know some people that have done it that are not mechanically inclined.

It was worth 2 tenths from what I seen.

What kind of transmission did your car come with originally?

LX XLR8R 06-24-2003 09:08 AM

right now its a 3.8L/5spd..going to a 302/ C-4

Oh, I don't know what's involved with switching from the 3.8.

Call Pro-M. They make a conversion harness/kit for this swap and should be able to tell you what you need to know.

I am assuming this will benifit the 95 blown gt my wife has? Or since it's blown maybe it would be the same just getting a chip? thanks

LX XLR8R 06-26-2003 01:31 PM

site says 3-4 tenths with a 93 computer!!

The only thing about the kit is it also has a fan controller rememebr the a9 does not have a provision to control the electric fan. So yes you can swap your pins around but then you need to make sure that you put some sort of external fan controler or wire it up to come on with the car.... Any of the wiring you do for the fan needs to also go through a relay so if you don't understand or can read the "map" printed on the relay then that is one more thing to consider... all in all the Pro-M kit is complete and easy to install. That being said I would swap pins and have done so in the past but electrics don't scare me since it is my job to design petro-chemical istrument and electrical systems.

CSI makes a awsome 2 1/16" digtial temp gaige that controls when the fan/electric water pump turn on
