Too Hot?

On a warm day (90's) the engine temp on my 302 peaks at ~225 F and my C4 trans temp usually levels off at ~210 F. I would like to know what other members cars peak out at.

Anyone know what temperature would be considered (too) high for an engine and trans.

Thanks,

Jon

mine usually hit that mark. i found some stuff called Royal purple. i highly recomend it, it garauntees not to get over 180 degrees. you put it in your radiator after you flush it and just put distilled water in and the Royal Purple. good stuff

My 351C used to overheat all the time. Had radiator boiled and pressure checked. Stock radiator, flex fan and shroud. Added a tranny cooler and an oil cooler too. Now my temp sits at 180* on hot days sitting in traffic.

you can either go expencive or you can go cheap!! but a oil cooler does help alot!
