1.7 rockers

thinkin bout puttin 1.7 rockers with my Bcam. how much of a gain would i see? is it worth it. some ppl have told me that runnin 1.7's with nething bigger than a stock cam on a 3/8 stud u will snap them  . i dunno how true that is

take your cam lift and divide it by 1.6 then mutliply it by 1.7..those your new lift #'s..we ran 11.7's with a b303/RR, performer 5.0s and 150 shot...car ran 13.0 with just heads and cam/RR

u have the Bcam in ur 95 ? also can u run 3/8 studs without a problem

LX XLR8R 07-05-2003 02:30 PM

naw it was in my 87..and we used bolt downs..i run scorpion 1.6 7/16" stud mount on my 95 atop the AFR 185's

i think you have to get a retro kit to use stud mounts on a pedistal head..comp cams makes it i belive

fiveOguy20 07-05-2003 02:34 PM

i already have 1.6 studmount on there right now with a 3/8 studs.

LX XLR8R 07-05-2003 02:35 PM

so it shouldnt be a prob..

fiveOguy20 07-05-2003 02:36 PM

shouldnt be, but like i said a few ppl told me 3/8 studs cant handle more than a stock cam with 1.7's

LX XLR8R 07-05-2003 02:41 PM

i dont know why they would make them then..i have no idea..i never ran a stud till i got the AFR's..i serilsy doubt it would matter because AFR said that the 3/8" were good but at higher RPM you wanted the added stabiltiy of a 7/16"..like i said i ran 1.7's on cams bigger than the b303 also and never had a prob and that was with pedi mount..
